Profile

Rowan’s passion for plants and garden design has been nurtured as a result of his work as a professional photographer specialising in plants and gardens. He has supplied features and images to clients such as The English Garden magazine, the RHS journal and the National Trust. He also collaborated with the BBC on the two books that accompanied the Chris Beardshaw/Hidden Gardens TV series. Over the years he has photographed many wonderful gardens, large and small, and has developed an eye for detail, colour and composition which he is now able to put to good use in his design work.

After moving to Yonder Cottage, just north of Bristol, in 2003, he embarked on a series of garden design courses with Chelsea flower show gold medal winner Jon Wheatley, and has attained a Diploma in Garden Design. In 2008 he gained his RHS level 2 certificate in horticulture at Bristol Botanic Garden.
