The owners of this suburban property wanted to be able to entertain and dine outside whatever the weather! They also required a quiet, contemplative space and some form of water feature.
The existing garden sloped downhill across the width of the plot so the levels would have to be addressed. The solution was to split the garden into two different levels with a feature rill and pond dissecting it lengthways.
An outdoor kitchen was built complete with pizza oven at the back of the house by the main patio and a bespoke summerhouse with it's own mini patio sits in the top right hand corner of the garden.
The main structural planting is provided by specimen Amelanchier (Snowy mespilus), Prunus amanagowa (flowering cherry) and Cornus Kousa (flowering dogwood) trees, with an understorey of shrubs, perennials and ornamental grasses.
